PLATFORM: HP9000 Series 7/800 running HP-UX releases 9.X, and 10.X only. DAMAGE: Vulnerability may allow networking to be disabled. SOLUTION: **REVISED 01** Apply patches listed below. AVAILABILITY: All patches are available now. CHANGE SUMMARY: This revision adds a patch for HP-UX release 10.16. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. A. Background Hewlett-Packard has learned that inetd can terminate prematurely. B. Fixing the problem The problem can be fixed by applying the appropriate patch mentioned below. C. Impact of the patch The patch makes inetd more robust to external factors. D.
