Little MIS Management

Does anybody actually read their job postings before publishing them in a national newspaper? MIS manager? How could I resist?

Dear Sir/ Madam.

It is with great enthusiasm that I find myself applying for the position of MISmanager at Visa Canada. When I first read your posting, I had assumed it was a MISprint. In light of the recent Enron and Worldcom scandals, however, I now understand that full disclosure is all the rage. Please accept my application for the MISmanagement position.

As for experience, I have been MISmanaging things for years. I had a small company once, and I managed to MISmanage that one into the ground. I had help, of course. Robert Kubbernuts and JAWS technologies, in fact, were invaluable role models in my early MISmanagement days, teaching me what a MIStake it was to take a fellow businessman's word at face value. Perhaps not surprisingly, it was during this period that I really began to MISmanage my own Visa account. It is hence with great enthusiasm that I look forward to the opportunity to put this experience to good use: MISmanaging the Visa accounts of others.

The goal of the job appears to be to deliver centralized MISfunction. I think I am capable of that. The last server room I looked after was in the centre of our office, and it contained several MISfunctioning servers. My own network (pintday.org) has been MISfunctioning for several years now.

My most recent MISmanagement experiences, however, have come with my involvement in my local condominiuum board. Here, I have been observing our management company MISmanage the complex for years. I can't be sure until the audit is done, but there's a chance they have been MISappropriating funds, too. I have been taking careful notes, and I feel confident I can learn to MISmanage as well as they do.

Incidently, I would have sent a resume, but I seem to have MISplaced it.

Sincerely,

Kjell Wooding
