Small Poems About Big Government

When the prose gives out, turn to poetry.

Evan Spence | 2006-11-07

A good man is crushed
Tax seasons slip past unknown—
The government cares

Roads lap at the shores:
Construction season returns
A fat man succumbs

Schoolyard trailer sits
Amid cries for always more
Children learn likewise

Feuding each four years—
Imaging gear sits idle
Health is not mayo

Last words on file
How (not) to hijack a plane…
Not flying today

Trust the white label
Save yourself from finding out—
Health Canada says it’s safe

Saphic photograph:
Blair touches Bush’s upper arm
Monuments are raised
