On Frank Lloyd Wright

'Why do you think we don't study much Frank Lloyd Wright at this school? He's only the most famous architect on this side of the Atlantic, with a huge body of work.'
'I suppose it has to do with the difficulty of taking lessons from worked created by innate genius, but without an accompanying body of coherent rhetoric.'
'He sets the bar too high?'
'A tad.'
'Who are we studying today, then?'
'A little bit of Koolhaus, and a whole lot of Mies.'
'Seems right. What about Gehry?'
'All of next week.'
'Sweet.'
