On the New Job

'How has your first week been at the office?' 'Truthfully? Quite lousy. I haven't started work on any real projects, but I still have a timesheet to account for. I don't have a network password, but I'm told my email inbox is over quota. When I showed up on Monday, the partners forgot they had hired me, and now the office administrator won't enroll me in the payroll system. I lsot my set of office keys, and set off the building alarm twice. The fax machine just spat toner at me, and I think I'm about to miss my bus.' 'Rough.' 'Still, it could have been worse. I could have extended my thesis.'
